RICHENDA CAREY
When asked if she acts in film, television, theatre or radio, Richenda always replies, ‘Yes!’
Her first professional job was sweeping the stage at Derby Rep in 1970, since when she has just kept working. Recent feature films include The Protégé, the first Downton Abbey movie, and The Colony (Colonia) with Emma Watson. She was recently on stage in New York with J.B. Priestley’s The Roundabout. She has appeared in the West End, at the National Theatre, on the fringe & in rep, and both national and international tours. She was a member of the BBC Radio Rep, and has done many audio and radio plays. She has been a regular in many TV series, including Monarch of the Glen, dinnerladies, Criminal Justice, Darling Buds of May, & The Choir, and has appeared as guest in numerous other television shows and plays.
In her varied career, she has worked among others with Mike Leigh, Alan Bennett, Victoria Wood, Stomp, Matthew Bourne and the Muppets!
